Danville murder suspect pleads guilty

DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - Andreus Royal is now awaiting his sentencing for a February murder.

Royal pleaded guilty to capital murder Friday, according to online court records.

He plead nolo contendre to four other charges.

All of the charges stem from the February shooting death of Jevontae Jermaine Johnson inside his Halifax Street home.

Derek Lamont Hairston, Jr. and Alexander O'Neal McGuire have both been charged with first-degree murder for the death and Jeni Leanne Merricks has been charged with accessory after the fact of first-degree murder.

McGuire and Merricks both pleaded guilty in July.

Hairston has not entered any pleas, according to online court records.

The next court date for all four suspects is scheduled for October 25.
