ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - The mother of Morgan Harrington helps pass a bill requiring high schools to educate students about preventing dating violence.
Gil Harrington lobbied for a bill to require high schools to incorporate prevention of dating violence, domestic abuse, sexual harassment, and sexual violence in family life education.

The bill passed the Senate in February and the governor will sign the bill next month.
"We've been working for seven years and we've reached a tipping point where we have had a critical mass of work that we're seeing now," says Harrington. "I'm really encouraged."
Harrington will be there for the signing in mid June.
