(WSLS 10) - Watch out world, the Girl Scouts are going digital to sell you cookies. For the first time in nearly 100 years, Girl Scouts of the USA will allow its young go-getters to push their goods using a mobile app or personalized websites.

Girl Scouts of the USA announced Monday, Dec. 1 girls will be able to sell cookies online as part of a new national Digital Cookie platform. The very first online sales will begin January 1, 2015.

Officials say 'Digital Cookie' is a revolutionary addition to the Girl Scout Cookie Program that will enhance and expand the program's ability to teach girls new skills for business and life.

They say the platform will add a digital layer that broadens and strengthens the five skills girls learn in the traditional cookie program: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics.

Note: Girl Scouts will still sell friend-to-friend (in-person) and outside your local grocery store at a booth sale. Digital Cookie just brings one more fantastic way for girls to increase their business sales toolkit.
