CHRISTIANSBURG (WSLS 10) - A national movement started in California has hundreds of localities across the country voting to display the nation's motto 'In God We Trust' in government chambers.

Montgomery County could be next on that list.

So far, more than 500 localities have adopted this resolution, including nearly 50 in Virginia. Montgomery County Board of Supervisors member Todd King proposed a resolution to display the motto in the board meeting room.

However, after receiving several negative emails, King decided to temporarily remove the resolution from the consent agenda to give residents a chance to speak out.

Supervisor King said he will put the resolution back on the agenda once he feels people have had enough time to share their views.
