Missing Lynchburg man found dead

Lynchburg police say David Dupont, 39, of Lynchburg, who was reported missing last week, has been found dead.

Officers responded to a call on Monday around 5 p.m. for a “person check" at the James River near the end of 9th Street. They found Dupont dead.

Police don’t suspect foul play, but his cause of death is still under investigation.

The Lynchburg Police Department is asking for help searching for a missing man.

David Kyle Dupont, 39, has not been seen or heard from in more than a week, according to police.

He is 6 feet tall and weighs 220 pounds.
