CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – 10:15 A.M. UPDATE
Authorities have identified the people involved in a stabbing that sent one person to the hospital in Christiansburg.
According to police, the incident happened on Roanoke Street near Arrowhead Trail.
When a deputy arrived on scene, they found a man with stab wounds to the upper body. The deputy then reportedly started CPR and called for backup.
Authorities say a witness told police the name and description of the suspect, and officers found the suspect in the 500 block of Republic Road in Christiansburg and took them into custody.
Police charged Kade Carter, 21, of Christiansburg with one count of felony aggravated wounding.
The victim, 50-year-old Michael Ponce of Goodview, was airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, and police say no additional information on his condition is available at this time.
