Damonte: 30 Days of Hope

His ideal family will be a two parent home or a single mother with other children

There are more than 700 children who are ready for foster to adoption in Virginia. They are ready to find a permanent and loving forever family. 10 News is profiling one child who needs a home every day at 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. in 30 Days of Hope. The children are all ages and races and were put into foster care due to no fault of their own. 2020 marks the fourth year 10 News is doing this series.

A hardworking and helpful teen — that’s how Damonte describes himself.

“My favorite animal is a lion because a lion always stays with his pack,” said the 16-year-old.

He enjoys school and learning, his favorite subjects are Math and History. He also loves Italian food.

“Lasagna, spaghetti and pizza,” said Damonte.

His ideal family will be a two-parent home or a single mother with other children anywhere in Virginia.

“The word family means to me sitting with a group of people, always talking, having fun,” he said.

The teen wants to travel with a family and learn new things. He sees himself as being a handyman as a side job, since he enjoys helping others.

“I am a very good person. I like helping people. I want to be a better person and a better me when I grow up,” said Damonte.

When asked to describe himself, he says he is funny, talented, and laidback. His favorite past time is listening to music and playing his video games with his friends. When Damonte is done with his chores and has free time, he loves hanging out with his friends.

Damonte loves animals and does not mind living in a farm-like area.
