Four men indicted on 52 combined charges in connection with deadly Franklin County shooting

A 20-year-old man died, while a 18-year-old was hospitalized

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. – A Franklin County grand jury indicted four men with a litany of charges on Tuesday, in connection with the deadly shooting of a 20-year-old Franklin County man in July.

On July 14, deputies arrived at a home in the 100 block of Salthouse Branch Road to find Justin Prillaman dead and James Prillaman, 18, injured after being shot multiple times.

During the course of the investigation, authorities arrested six people, Te’Sean Brooks, Qu’Shawn Manns, Treavon Taylor, Austin Lane, Sean Schwallenburg and Leon Mitchell.

On Tuesday, a grand jury indicted Manns, Brooks, Schwallenburg and Mitchell on the following 52 charges:

Qu’Shawn Manns

  • Non-capital first-degree murder
  • Malicious wounding
  • Conspiracy to commit burglary
  • Robbery of a residence with a gun (2 counts)
  • Conspiracy to commit robbery (2 counts)
  • Statutory burglary of a dwelling
  • Larceny of a firearm
  • Using a firearm in the commission of a felony (5 counts)

Te’Sean Brooks

  • Non-capital first-degree murder
  • Malicious wounding
  • Robbery of a residence with a gun (2 counts)
  • Larceny of a firearm
  • Statutory burglary of a dwelling
  • Conspiracy to commit burglary
  • Conspiracy to commit robbery (2 counts)
  • Using a firearm in the commission of a felony (5 counts)

Sean Schwallenberg

  • Non-capital first-degree murder
  • Malicious wounding
  • Conspiracy to commit burglary
  • Robbery of a residence with a gun
  • Statutory burglary of a dwelling
