Tractor-trailer carrying coffee creamer catches fire, causing delays on I-81 near Botetourt/Roanoke County line

Fire began shortly after 4:30 p.m.

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. – Drivers heading south on Interstate 81 should try to avoid this section of the interstate.

At mile marker 147.3, about three miles south of the Daleville exit, a tractor-trailer carrying coffee creamer caught fire, according to Virginia State Police.

While no one was hurt, all southbound travel was temporarily shut down.

As of 5:59 p.m., while both lanes are open, VDOT is reporting delays of 4 miles.
