ROANOKE, Va. – A man was sent to the hospital after a shooting early Thursday morning, according to the Roanoke Police Department.
At about 1:15 a.m., Roanoke Police were called to the 700 block of Hunt Avenue NW for the report of shots fired. On their way there, officers were alerted that there was a report of a person who had been shot at the scene.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a man with a “non-life-threatening gunshot wound” in a home nearby.
Authorities say Roanoke Fire-EMS transported the man to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.
According to the department, no suspects were located at the scene and no arrests have been made as this remains an ongoing investigation.
