ROANOKE, VA. – Ukrainians who have found a home in the Roanoke Valley are planning a rally to show support for their native country.
“We are doing a peaceful rally to support Ukraine, to support our families, friends and all of the soldiers to show them how grateful we are and how proud of them we are for standing up for our country,” said Anna Miroshnychenko.
She and others have parents, siblings and other loved ones on the front lines.
“There’s no time. There is no more time,” emphasized Miroshnychenko. “We have our families. We stay up all night with them because it’s morning. We just pray that we see them.”
The “Stand with Ukraine” rally will be on Saturday, March 5 at 2 p.m.
Everyone will meet near the downtown Roanoke Library and Elmwood Park by the Blue Ridge Literacy center.
You are encouraged to bring any posters, flags or other items relating to the support of Ukraine.
