HENRY COUNTY, Va. – One man is dead and another in jail after a shooting outside a business in Henry County on Friday afternoon.
At about 12:23 p.m., 911 dispatchers received a call that someone had been shot in the parking lot of Kuntry Boyz Tires on Philpott Highway, just east of Martinsville city limits.
Deputies arrived 5 minutes later to find the victim, 44-year-old Donny Martin, and first responders later pronounced him dead at the scene.
Through the course of the investigation, it was discovered that an argument between the victim and Stephen Darnell Holland escalated to the point where Holland shot Martin multiple times, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities arrested the 39-year-old Axton man, charging him with first-degree murder and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.
