Police identify man killed in Northwest Roanoke fight

Police have identified the man who died as a result of a fight in Northwest Roanoke over the weekend.

Authorities said the victim was Berkley Bradley, 55, of Roanoke.

Police had no further updates.

A man is dead after police said he died from injuries sustained in a fight in Northwest Roanoke over the weekend.

Authorities said they responded to the 1700 block of Melrose Ave. NW around 11 p.m. on Sunday.

When officers arrived, they said they found an unresponsive man lying on the ground. He was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment, where he later died as a result of his injuries.

After further investigation, police said the victim was in a fight with another man who was taken to the Roanoke Police Department for an interview with detectives. Authorities said they believe the two men were in a verbal fight that became physical, and that they knew each other.

As of this time, police said no charges have been filed in connection to this offense, but detectives will be consulting with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
