LYNCHBURG, Va. – An individual is in the hospital following a shooting at an apartment complex, according to the Lynchburg Police Department.
Authorities say it happened on Thursday shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Reusens Rd at Maple Ridge Apartments.

When officers arrived on the scene, they were told by several witnesses that someone had been shot and left the area.
We’re told that witnesses also claimed three unknown masked individuals fired the shots and then fled the scene in a dark-colored vehicle.
Lynchburg Police tell 10 News that not long after, they were alerted about a man who had been transported to the Lynchburg General Hospital ER with a gunshot wound to the leg.
The police department reports he is expected to recover.
Authorities say they don’t have any information on a suspect at this time.
