Many households have not received their Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) benefits due to a card processing error.

The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) announced the error on Sept. 12 regarding summer benefits issued on Aug. 25.

Some households will require a new P-EBT card which will be automatically shipped to them.

Those affected do not need to take action to report their invalid cards.

Summer P-EBT benefits will continue to be processed until all those who are eligible have received them.

The P-EBT is a federal program that launched in the spring of 2020 to provide students who qualify with meals while schools were shut down.

This issue does not impact the benefits for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) households.

VDSS encourages anyone who hasn’t received their card or benefits by Sept. 30 to contact the P-EBT Call Center at 1-866-513-1414.
