BEDFORD, Va. – The Huddleston Volunteer Fire Department said they cleared the scene of a brush fire in Bedford County.
Crews responded to Smith Mountain Lake Parkway at Dowdy Crossing Saturday evening.
Firefighters asked residents to stay clear of the area. It’s unclear what caused the fire.
The Department of Forestry will remain on scene throughout the night.
There was a large brush fire in that same area a little over a month ago.
