ROANOKE, Va. – A trial date has been set for a Roanoke man who was charged in connection with a shooting that left one dead and two hospitalized, court records indicate.

Twenty-seven-year-old Brandon Woods is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 20 at 9 a.m.

As we previously reported, on April 23 at about 1:20 a.m., Roanoke Police responded to the 100 block of Campbell Avenue Southwest in downtown Roanoke after hearing gunshots.

Authorities arrived to find a man lying outside of a business and a woman inside of the business who had been shot. Both victims were transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Authorities say the woman survived the incident; however, the male victim died from his injuries. There was also a third victim who was injured in the shooting.

Woods is facing a first-degree murder charge.
