LYNCHBURG, Va. – A woman has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a Lynchburg child that happened in 2020.
The situation started when Lynchburg Police were called to investigate the sudden death of a child at Brookside Apartments around 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 23. When officers responded, they said the child was found and was not breathing. The caller and first responders at the scene tried to save the child’s life, but they passed away.

Throughout the investigation, authorities determined that reckless disregard for human life contributed to the child’s death.
Brandy Parker, 39, has been charged with felony murder and felony child abuse and neglect. She was arrested on Wednesday and is being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond.
