Region now has one of first Chick-fil-A food trucks in country

Salem unveiled the food truck this week

SALEM –  If you can't always go to a Chick-fil-A, now your favorite meals can come to you.

The owner of Chick-fil-A in Salem unveiled the Chick-fil-A truck. It's only the fourth truck of it's kind in the entire country. Owner Shaine Miles said the truck is a test from the national company to see if the model can be unveiled chain-wide.

Miles, a Salem native said although Thursday was only the trucks fourth day on the job, he's already received an overwhelming response from businesses requesting the truck stop by their location.

"To be able to take food where people want it. That's kind of the way of the future. It seems to be with Amazon delivery and Prime Eats and Uber dash and all of those things going on. So this enables us to do that and get people where they are going,” Miles said.

He plans on taking the trucks to multiple businesses, sporting events and other festivals in the Roanoke Valley in the future.
