Child found dead on day care bus

WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. – A 5-year-old died on a day care bus on Monday in West Memphis, Arkansas, according to WMC Action News 5.

The child was found dead at 3:30 p.m., according to the West Memphis Police Department. 

The NBC affiliate reports that the child was picked up at 6:40 a.m. and the bus arrived at the day care at 7:20 a.m.

The child was found dead in a booster seat hours later.

So far, it is not clear why the child did not, or could not, get off the bus.
