New restaurant opens in historic venue in Rocky Mount

B-Sides serves up beer and burgers

ROCKY MOUNT – A historic venue gets a new purpose and becomes an added amenity to the community as well as the ten's of thousands of people attracted to the county's music scene.

A new restaurant has opened beside the Harvester Center in Rocky Mount.
B-Sides, a music-themed venue featuring burgers and beer opened in September at the former Boot-Leggers Cafe site.

The location is a coveted spot that will not only cater to the downtown area, but also the nearly 40,000 tourists the Harvester Center attracts to the area each year.

Adam Lynch, co-owner of the business said he and his partners have worked to cultivate a great atmosphere filled with great food.

"Like every great story it had to start over a conversation and a beer,” Lynch said. Their vision has truly come to fruition with a newly renovated space and design that also sticks with the historic feel of the building and downtown. “So after a few nights of sitting down talking about an idea for what could come into this space we determined that B-Sides would be the perfect opportunity to take advantage of the history of this corner of Rocky Mount as well as play on the music theme of the Harvester Center,” Lynch said.

The business has seating for 100 people and an outdoor music venue. The business also features a whiskey bar upstairs with a record player for guests to listen to classic music that will be used for private events.
