RADFORD (WSLS 10) - The Radford City Police Department announced a new partnership with Help Save the Next Girl. Officers hope this can fight the recent trend of sexual violence in the area.
The partnership will bring officers and advocates into Radford schools, including the university, as well as church youth groups and community events.
There will be a push to educate young people and parents about how to stay safe.
Police said this is one way to be proactive instead of reactive.
There are now nearly 40 chapters of Help Save the Next Girl nationwide.
