Roanoke County police continue search for missing teen

ROANOKE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Roanoke County police narrowed their search for a missing 17-year-old's car to an approximate two-mile search area; however, after searching on Friday afternoon, police say they did not find Sarabeth Hammond or the 2016 white Hyundai Elantra she was driving.

Sarabeth was last heard from at 6:30 p.m. on December 28. She is 5-feet-3-inches tall, weighs 115 pounds and has green eyes and blonde hair.

Roanoke County Police, Virginia State Police and Roanoke County Fire & Rescue conducted the search on Friday afternoon near Bent Mountain. Using cell phone analysis, the agencies defined a search area across Bent Mountain. Virginia State Police conducted an aerial search, but no agency found anything related to Sarabeth.
