'Feel Good Tour' looking for used instruments to help children this holiday season

A local organization is bringing musical cheer to children in our area

ROANOKE,Va. – The gift of music can last a lifetime, but for students who cannot afford an instrument of their own it is a gift they may never receive.

A local organization is bringing musical cheer to children in our area. The "Feel Good Tour" is looking for used instruments to help  children this holiday season.

The Feel Good Tour will be hosting their second annual Music for Christmas. Its purpose is to collect as many instruments in the area and give them to children who need them.

Organizer Bill Hudson is one of the driving forces of the organization.

“I think for kids it helps builds confidence in themselves, especially in adolescents,” said Hudson.“It is something that they can do themselves.”

The pianos and drums received are given to children who wish to pursue music.

Over 300 families have benefited from the group’s efforts. One of those individuals is Juwan Washington, a friend and recipient to the Feel Good Tour.

“You really never know what you can do for somebody or how you can make someone else feel,” said Washington. “I really never thought Bill would have thought about the little conversation we had about the piano, and then give me one.”

The organization is looking to collect instruments that are in useable condition during November through December. If you have an instrument, be sure to follow the link here.
