80 to 90-percent of kids in foster care are adopted by foster parents

ROANOKE, Va. – Traci Jones and Anna Koehle with the Virginia Department of Social Services talk about foster care and adoption. 80 to 90-percent of children in foster care are adopted by their foster parents in Virginia.

There are more than 800 children who are ready for foster to adoption in Virginia. They are ready to find a permanent and loving forever family. 10 News is profiling one child who needs a home every day at 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. in 30 Days of Hope. Connecting Hearts- A Deborah J Johnston Charity  celebrates National Adoption Month to bring awareness to 30 kids or siblings who are available for forever homes, but also to shed light on hundreds of other children who may not be seen.
