Virginia sees 1,261 new coronavirus cases, now reporting 184,679 statewide

There are now 3,666 deaths from the coronavirus in Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. – As of November 3, Virginia is now reporting 184,679 cases of the coronavirus across the commonwealth since March.

Tuesday’s total of 184,679 cases marks an increase from Monday’s total of 183,418 cases.

Here is a breakdown of the 1,261 new cases in Virginia:

  • 108 new cases in Prince William County
  • 103 new cases in Virginia Beach
  • 68 new cases in Roanoke
  • 59 new cases in Fairfax County
  • 57 new cases in Loudoun County
  • 50 new cases in Henrico County
  • 41 new cases in Chesterfield County
  • 37 new cases in Prince George County
  • 36 new cases in Roanoke County and Franklin County
  • 35 new cases in Arlington County
  • 32 new cases in Montgomery County
  • 29 new cases in Norfolk
  • 22 new cases in Richmond
  • 19 new cases in Chesapeake
  • 17 new cases in Washington County and Newport News
  • 16 new cases in Stafford County, Campbell County and Lynchburg
  • 15 new cases in Petersburg
  • 14 new cases in Alexandria and Dinwiddie County
  • 13 new cases in Danville, Shenandoah County, Hampton and Augusta County
  • 12 new cases in Wise County
  • 11 new cases in Hanover County, Frederick County, Bedford County, Winchester, Spotsylvania County and Henry County
  • 10 new cases in Salem, Scott County, Radford and Harrisonburg
  • 9 new cases in Suffolk, Botetourt County and Carroll County
  • 7 new cases in Smyth County, Warren County, Appomattox County, Buckingham County, Grayson County and Amherst County
  • 6 new cases in Russell County, Pittsylvania County, Culpeper County, Tazewell County, Halifax County, James City County, Page County, Staunton and Franklin
  • 5 new cases in Bristol, Rockingham County and Bland County
  • 4 new cases in Portsmouth, Pulaski County, Giles County, York County, King George County, Nottoway County, Caroline County, Prince Edward County, New Kent County and Rockbridge County
  • 3 new cases in Lee County, Albemarle County, Orange County, Galax, Isle of Wight County, Lexington, Fredericksburg, King William County, Buena Vista, Patrick County and Martinsville
  • 2 new cases in Williamsburg, Manassas Park, Floyd County, Craig County, Wythe County, Dickenson County, Southampton County, Charlotte County, Clarke County and Norton
  • 1 new case in Manassas, Mecklenburg County, Greene County, Cumberland County, Greensville County, Charles City County, Hopewell, Goochland County, Amelia County and Emporia

As of Tuesday, the Virginia Dept. of Health reports there have been 2,896,576 total testing encounters.

The term “testing encounters” includes individuals who have been tested more than once due to their profession, high-risk status or need for a negative result to return to work. The health department started using this metric on May 1. To learn more, click here.
