RICHMOND, Va. – As of November 12, Virginia is now reporting 198,027 cases of the coronavirus across the commonwealth since March.

Thursday’s total of 198,027 cases marks an increase from Wednesday’s total of 196,506 cases.

Here is a breakdown of the new coronavirus cases in Virginia:

  • 214 new cases in Fairfax County
  • 100 new cases in Virginia Beach
  • 84 new cases in Prince William County
  • 75 new cases in Chesterfield County
  • 62 new cases in Loudoun County
  • 55 new cases in Chesapeake
  • 51 new cases in Henrico County
  • 44 new cases in Wise County
  • 37 new cases in Roanoke
  • 35 new cases in Suffolk
  • 31 new cases in Richmond and Montgomery County
  • 30 new cases in Lynchburg
  • 28 new cases in Arlington County
  • 27 new cases in Spotsylvania County
  • 26 new cases in Tazewell County
  • 22 new cases in Bedford County and Nottoway County
  • 19 new cases in Roanoke County, Washington County, Alexandria and Franklin County
  • 16 new cases in Newport News, Danville and Charlottesville
  • 15 new cases in Frederick County, Hampton and Hanover County
  • 14 new cases in Scott County
  • 13 new cases in Stafford County and Portsmouth

  • 2 new cases in Shenandoah County, Rockbridge County, Amherst County, Manassas, Clarke County, Colonial Heights, Prince Edward County, Goochland County, Bath County and Richmond County
  • 1 new case in Russell County, Waynesboro, Harrisonburg, York County, Dickenson, County, Staunton, Appomattox County, Madison County, Manassas Park, Bland County, Greensville County, Brunswick County, Fluvanna County, Charles City County, Amelia County, Galax, Northampton County, Mathews County, Southampton County, Surry County and King and Queen County
  • Rappahannock County, Lancaster County and Middlesex County all decreased by one case
  • Lexington decreased by two cases

As of Thursday, the Virginia Dept. of Health reports there have been 3,088,771 total testing encounters.

The term “testing encounters” includes individuals who have been tested more than once due to their profession, high-risk status or need for a negative result to return to work. The health department started using this metric on May 1. To learn more, click here.
