Campbell County man arrested, accused of using Facebook to solicit 15-year-old

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. – A Campbell County man has been arrested after authorities say he used Facebook to try and solicit a 15-year-old.

Investigators with the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce (SOVA-ICAC) began investigating a case involving the solicitation of child pornography on August 4, when they said a 15-year-old Bedford County child was solicited online multiple times by a suspect using Facebook Messenger.

Bobby Matthew Fisher, 23, of Lynch Station, was arrested on Aug. 10 in Gretna by investigators assigned to the SOVA-ICAC Taskforce from the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office and the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office. 

Simultaneously, investigators assigned to the task force from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office and Bedford County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at his Lynch Station residence.

Fisher has been charged with six felonies, three counts of solicitation of a minor to produce child pornography and three counts of use of communications device to facilitate certain offenses involving children.

Fisher was being held with no bond.
