Two more arrested in Raymond Wood murder

A total of five people have been charged

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. – Two more people have been charged in the death of 17-year-old Raymond Wood, the Bedford County Sheriff's Office announced Friday.

A total of five people have now been charged in the murder, which happened on Roaring Run Road on March 27.

Kevin Soto-Bonilla, 20, was arrested in New York on September 19. He will be extradited back to Bedford in the coming days.

Cristian Jose Sanchez-Gomez, 22, was arrested October 5 in Albemarle County, which is the Charlottesville area. He is being held in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond.

Authorities are not looking for any other suspects.

After the crime, investigators quickly realized there were additional suspects that had managed to avoid arrest. The investigation further revealed that they were not from Virginia and had fled the immediate area. A tactical decision was made not to release this information so that the investigation might continue without driving them further underground.

The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office is not releasing any further information at this time due to the complexity of the investigation.
