Lloyd Welch pleads guilty in Prince William County case

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. – Lloyd Welch, who last week pleaded guilty in the 1975 disappearance and deaths of the Lyon sisters, pleaded guilty to multiple 1996 sex crimes against two young girls on Thursday, according to WTOP.

The Washington radio station reports that Thursday's deal was reached during negotiations in his previous plea deal.

WTOP reports that Welch was indicted on a series of charges for the Prince William County assaults that included rape, aggravated sexual battery and indecent liberties with a child by a person in custodial or supervisory relationship.

As part of the deal, Welch was sentenced to 20 years in prison, with eight suspended. The sentence will be concurrent with his murder sentence.
