Bedford County Sheriff's Office: Unresponsive 2-year-old had been in home pool

BEDFORD CO., Va. – Bedford County deputies are investigating after an unresponsive 2-year-old was taken to the hospital.

The child had been in a home pool, according to the sheriff's office. 

Around 1:50 p.m. on Friday, a 911 call came in from the guard house at Georgia Pacific on Lee Jackson Highway in Big Island. The caller said a couple showed up there with an unresponsive child. 

The child was taken to Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. 

Authorities are investigating the whereabouts and cause.
