City leaders plan for growth in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. – A lot of people and businesses are moving to Lynchburg, according to city officals.
 
To stay ahead of the growth, city leaders created a neighborhood plan for the Treeyanna and Pleasant View area.
 
Officials believe the rural area has potential for home and business development.

It also has a considerable amount of green space compared with other parts of Lynchburg.
 
The city planner recently met with neighbors to find out what changes they'd like to see over the next 10 years.

"We feel that now is the time to plan for Tyreeanna so that when development does happen it can happen in a way that the neighborhood wants," Rachel Frischeisen, city planner, said.

In the next few months, city leaders will work with a consultant to create a design and plan.
