LYNCHBURG, Va. - Not 24 hours ago, Heritage high school junior Jordan Keyes was shot and killed in front of his family’s home on Taylor Street.
Keye's sister, Tyasia Keyes was inside their house when she heard the shots that killed her brother.
"I heard a whole lot of shots, and it happened like in the back of my mom's truck," Keyes said.
Jordan's cousin, Patricia Booker came by to check on Keyes' family.
"I know we all have to go, but to go this way is just unbelievable," Booker said.
Tyasia said her brother was going to be a chef.
"Anyone who knew Jordan knew he was always smiling," Keyes said.
"He is a really nice kid, really nice and quiet," Booker said.
While loved ones came by to check on the family, Keyes said her younger sister isn't doing so well.
"They were like best friends, they always joked with each other,” Keyes said.
Police spoke with several neighbors trying to get information.
"I have no idea who did this, but I’m going to get answers," Keyes said.
