LYNCHBURG, Va. – A 15-year-old boy is in custody and has been charged for making threats against other students and teachers at E.C. Glass High School, according to the Lynchburg Police Department.
Police say they believe the boy acted alone.

He is currently in custody and multiple charges are being sought for allegedly making threats to commit serious bodily harm to persons on school property.
He was taken to the Lynchburg Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
This is an on-going investigation and additional charges may be obtained.
Lynchburg police are investigating several threats to students at E.C. Glass High School, according to the school's principal.
Police say they've received several complaints by both students and teachers at the school about receiving threatening text messages on their personal cell phones. The messages were received both while students were in school, and not in school Tuesday, according to police.
Officers and detectives have been at the school throughout the day as part of the investigation.
E.C. Glass administration has been cooperating with parents to allow students to leave school if they wish, according to the police department.
On Tuesday, Principal Dr. Jeffrey Garrett sent this message to families:
E.C. Glass Administration would like to inform our school community of a situation involving our students and social media. On Monday, September 25, several students reported to school administration that they had received inappropriate text messages and links to videos that were perceived to be threatening in nature. Since then School Administration has been working closely with the Lynchburg Police Department to resolve this situation. Student safety is our number one concern and we will continue to work with the police to resolve this situation.
