BEDFORD, Va. - Family-friendly vacations in the commonwealth received a boost and a little love Wednesday from the Virginia Tourism Corporation.
The group unveiled its latest "love" letters at the Bedford Area Welcome Center.
Bedford is one of 65 communities across the state with the display since the campaign started in 2012.
Liberty High School art students designed the letters showcasing the tourist attractions and assets that make up Bedford.
"I love it. I knew it was going to be amazing but I didn't know it was going to be glorious," said ninth-grader Macayla Lindy, who helped paint the letters.
"Our hope is that once they see the attraction is featured on the letters that they actually want to go and see the different places in person," said Bedford County Tourism Director Nichole Johnson.
Johnson also said the hope is to increase tourism and give visitors a great photo opportunity.
