Seven Lynchburg city schools have reached full accreditation

LCS says there are still nine schools that are not fully accredited

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Seven Lynchburg city schools have reached full accreditation. The state's board of education released those accreditation results Wednesday. Lynchburg City Schools said they doubled their numbers of schools from 2014 to 2015. LCS said, there are still nine schools that are not fully accredited and there's still work to be done.

“We are working closely with the principal with the staff of those schools to ensure full accreditation in the future. We're looking to replicate the strategies that have worked well in the schools that are accredited. We're being very mindful of time on task to make sure we're using every minute that's available to us for instruction,” Dr. Larry Massie, LCS interim superintendent, said.

School officials said they hope to have all schools fully accredited in the next three to four years.
