Christiansburg public hearing focused on improvements to North Franklin/Cambria intersection

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – Improvements could soon be coming to a busy intersection in the New River Valley.

The town of Christiansburg is hosting a public hearing Thursday night to inform people about possible changes for the intersection of North Franklin and Cambria street, all the way to Independence Boulevard.

Improvements include ramp modifications to Route 460, adding traffic signals and pedestrian improvements.

"We want increased safety, less congestion. We want better access through this corridor. We want to support businesses along this corridor," said Wayne Nelson, engineering director for the town of Christiansburg.

The public hearing runs from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Christiansburg Town Hall.
