Interstate Group to create 83 new jobs in Giles County

The company is making Glen Lyn its headquarters

GILES COUNTY, Va. – A company is creating dozens of jobs in Giles County, Governor Terry McAuliffe announced Friday morning.

Interstate Group is investing $4.1 million to make its location in Glen Lyn its East Coast headquarters. It's a move that will create 83 new jobs, according to the company.

The manufacturing facility is not hiring yet, but will soon.

Michael Snow, CEO, says the average pay is $18 to $20 an hour with benefits.

Giles County beat North Carolina for the spot.

The location was formerly GE/Fairchild, which eliminated 60 jobs when it closed in 2016.

The plan is to open in five to six months after some renovations.
