Amanda Knox to speak at Roanoke College

Event set for Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m.

SALEM, Va. – A woman who made international headlines after being wrongfully convicted and imprisoned for murder in Italy will speak in Salem.

Amanda Knox will be speaking at Roanoke College later this month about what she went through and what she's learned about truth-seeking in the process.

Her story raises important issues not only about her own case but about the larger question of wrongful convictions both abroad and in the American legal system, according to the college.

Knox was studying abroad in Perugia, Italy, when she was convicted of killing her roommate, Meredith Kercher, in 2007.

Know was sentenced to 26 years in prison and served nearly four of them before she was officially exonerated in 2015.

The conversation takes place Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the Wortmann Ballroom at the Colkett Center.

You can also buy her book and get an autograph.
