House fire injures woman in southeast Roanoke

Two-story house catches fire Saturday morning

ROANOKE, Va. – There was a two-story house fire in southeast Roanoke Saturday morning that emergency crews said injured one woman.

Six different fire stations responded after police got a call about the fire around 5:25 a.m., crews said. There was major damage to a home in the 1500 block of 8th Street.

A woman who was inside the house was taken to a hospital, crews said. Her condition is unknown.

Crews on the scene said they have contained the fire.
