Roanoke police respond to Northwest shooting that sent man to hospital

Police have not made any arrests

ROANOKE, Va. – Police in Roanoke are investigating a shooting that sent one man to the hospital. 

According to police, a call came into dispatch at 10:26 p.m. Thursday about a shooting in the 400 block of Harrison Ave. NW.

When officers arrived, they discovered a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Police say the man, who they identified as 28-year-old Charlottesville resident Arsenio Trent Motley, was alert and conscious when he was being transported. No other update on his condition or identity is being released at this time. 

So far, no arrests have been made and police are canvassing the area.
