Charges reduced for Roanoke man accused of killing baby

ROANOKE, Va. - A Roanoke man accused of killing his wife’s 5-month-old nephew was in court Monday.

Mikeal Sardarov was indicted last year on murder, child abuse and neglect, and child endangerment charges in the death of Liam Fink. He entered a no contest plea Monday morning. 

The first-degree murder charge was amended to second degree. The other charges have been dropped. 

The infant was found unresponsive on Dona Drive on February 28, 2016.  

Sardarov is being held at the Roanoke City Jail. His sentencing is set for October 26.
