Crews respond to fire at Roanoke County rehab care center

No injuries reported, fire contained to laundry room

ROANOKE COUNTY – Crews responded to a fire at a rehabilitation center in Roanoke County.

Roanoke County Fire & Rescue crews were dispatched to the 3700 block of Knollridge Road for a reported structure fire at about 9:30 a.m.

When crews arrived at the rehabilitation center on the Richfield Community, they found a fire in the laundry area of the building. 

Crews say the sprinkler system activated and contained the fire to the laundry room area.

Firefighters had the fire out in about 18 minutes. 

Roanoke County Fire and Rescue says all residents are accounted for and no injuries have been reported.

Fire crews are still working to mitigate the smoke and water damage at this time.

Investigators are on scene working to determine the cause.
