ROANOKE, Va. – Elevation Church in Roanoke is doing its best to give back to the community and spread love.
The church's annual "Love Week" gets volunteers out and about in the community working with non-profits and other organizations.
On Monday, volunteers helped landscape at Jamestown Place.
But that's just the beginning. When the week is all said and done, volunteers will have done more than 100 acts of community service within the Roanoke area.
"We want this to be a time where we get connected with those who may not even be able to step inside our church, but we see this as an opportunity to serve them and to be there for them and help them wherever they are in their journey," said Justin Gortman, outreach director for Elevation Roanoke.Â
Elevation will have volunteers throughout Roanoke the rest of the week including at the Rescue Mission, Habitat for Humanity and Feeding America.
Earlier this week, the church packaged more than 88,000 meals for Rise Against Hunger.Â
