Former Norfolk Southern building in downtown Roanoke gets new tenant

Associated Asphalt announces move to new building location in Downtown Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. – The former Norfolk Southern building in downtown Roanoke is getting a new tenant this month.

CEO Bill Kirk at Associated Asphalt said its Roanoke-based business is making the move as they have expanded in size.

During the past four years, about 12 new employees have been hired.

Kirk explains why the business is looking forward to its new headquarters office in the downtown area.

“I think it was pretty much apparent that the people who work here in our office like being downtown so that was kind of our hope continue to stay downtown. We like the building, and we like the fact that it's locally owned,” Kirk said.

Kirk said the company will likely sell its Church Avenue location.
