Multi-vehicle wreck causes major backup on I-81 South in Botetourt County

BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. – As of 4:37 p.m., VDOT is reporting that the crash has been cleared. 

A multi-vehicle wreck is causing a major backup on I-81 South in Botetourt County.

It happened at mile marker 171, which is between the Buchanan and Natural Bridge exits. 

The southbound right shoulder is closed. As of 2:53 p.m., the traffic back up is about 3 miles.
