ROANOKE, Va. - A proposed library kiosk has a group of South Roanoke residents concerned.
Roanoke Public Libraries want to build a small "e-library" on the greenspace next to the fire station on Crystal Spring Avenue SW.
However, opponents say they use that "Village Green" for Easter egg hunts, July 4th, and other community events.
The president of the Neighbors in South Roanoke, Barbara Duerk, says she wants locals and the library to work together to find a compromise.
"This is one of the few grass, open spaces that's still in South Roanoke," Duerk said. "There are some people that would like to keep it this way."
Duerk will be at the Village Green this Thursday, February 14th from 5 - 7 p.m. for people to express their concerns and ideas about the library kiosk.
