The founder of a local non-profit that works to fight crime will be waiting another month before his case is heard in court.
As 10 News reported, Shawn Hunter stepped down from the Peacemakers because he is facing charges related to texting a nude photo of himself.
Shawn Hunter and his attorney walked into court Wednesday morning ready for trial, but the prosecution needs more time.
In early October, Hunter was arrested and charged with harassment by computer. Hunter said from the beginning of the allegations, sending the nude picture was an accident and was not meant for the woman who received the picture by text message.
More details were supposed to come out in court, but prosecutors want more time to investigate, go through evidence and find other witnesses.
Hunter's attorney responded after court about what the other side must prove in this case.
"Well, they have to prove every element of the offense beyond a reasonable doubt which the evidence isn't there because it wasn't. It was an accident. It was intended for somebody else, sent to that person with that consent and then accidentally sent to her. It's really a shame, because he's doing so much good for this community," Deborah Caldwell-Bono said.
The judge continued the case until December 12 at 9 a.m.
