New video shows Roanoke Co. burglary suspect after using stolen credit card

Stolen credit card was taken from a Brambleton Ave. dentist office

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. – It may be a break in an investigation we first reported earlier this month.

Roanoke County police say the suspect wanted for a series of business break-ins along Brambleton Avenue and Electric Roads used a credit card from one of those burglaries.

WSLS 10's Irisha Jones has been following this story and was given new surveillance video of the suspects.

There were multiple business break-ins on Electric Road in April, and a stolen credit card from one of the businesses was used around the city.

This week police were able to recover surveillance video from three locations and they need your help to capture the thieves.

Reported business break-ins in Roanoke County have stopped for now. But new exclusive surveillance video shows the person police say stole a credit card from a Brambleton Avenue dental office last month.

"It just so happens in one of those burglaries the business credit card was stolen. And once they received the statement, they determined that they have been used after the burglary," said David McMillan, commander of the Criminal Investigation Division for the Roanoke County Police Department.

The Kroger close to Valley View Mall is where he used the credit card. Another picture shows him at the Kroger gas station where he used it to make another purchase.

"It's absolutely a very good break for us. Good lead. Help us all these burglaries" said McMillan.

But it appears as though the suspect wasn't alone. Police were able to get more video of others, but this time at the Valley View Wal-Mart.

"Yes, they all used the stolen credit card," said McMillan.

The surveillance video aired on WSLS 10 after the first business break-in report on May 9. You can see the person breaking into a commercial business in Roanoke County.

Police believe the person seen in the video using the stolen credit card is the same man involved in the burglaries. While credit cards are a sought-after item, cash is too.

Out of the 10 reported burglaries on Electric Road and Brambleton Avenue, police say petty cash was stolen from three of locations. Call 540-777-5255 if you know who or where the suspects are or where they may be located.
