One arrested, one wanted in connection with Roanoke double-shooting

Two men shot remain in the hospital

ROANOKE, Va. – A 19-year-old man is in custody, and authorities are searching for a 22-year-old man in connection with Friday's double shooting in Roanoke.

Detectives have charged Monte Taylor, 19, of Roanoke, with malicious wounding in connection with the shooting in the 1300 block of Burks Street SW.

Taylor has already been served the warrant and is currently in the Roanoke County-Salem Jail.

Detectives also obtained a warrant for malicious wounding for DeJon Leslie White, 22, of Roanoke, in connection with the shootings.

Anyone with information on White's immediate whereabouts is encouraged to call 911.

Police say that both victims, Michael Cardona Santamarina, 22, and Troy Savion Gastelo, 24, both of Roanoke, are still in the hospital.
